Originally from Wimbledon, I've lived in Brighton for the last few years. After a few years of knocking about in various jobs, I had a go at living the life of a full-time 'professional' artist, inspired by the success of my sister Katty and others in the artist's studios I worked in. After 5 years of exhibiting in various galleries and exhibitions here and abroad I gave it up as I found the whole experience very unsatisfying, both artistically and financially.

Now I do the odd small painting for myself, which is a much happier experience as it's done without an eye for making a sale and as merely one of many other interests, which feels much more healthy than before. I also do the odd commissioned portrait drawing from photos to supplement my income which I also enjoy and seems to give people a lot of pleasure.

Among my other interests I've recently started keeping bees and making bee hives, and maintain a website aimed at my local community called Transition Fiveways & Hollingdean, inspired by the Transition movement - a positive community response to to the approaching pressures of climate change, fossil fuel depletion and an outdated economic system.
